“Judgment day is closer than you think, children!” The sound of each syllable burned against the ear drums—the sound, oh that shrill sound—of the Neanderthal Geometry coach’s voice. Was it the sense of foreboding that converted each individual’s cochlear liquid into the most destructive acid? The answer, to be put simply and plainly in a form which all members of the class could interpret—was no.
The imbecile—that simpleton—rambled on as the innocent, genius students (alright, given there are only two) cringed at each consonant and vowel, contemplating freeing themselves from the mortal coils the coach had fastened ‘round their throats. Doomed to each individual and deafening lesson, they lifted their pencils with heavy hearts, romanticizing Algebra II instead.
Simply the prospect of a more elite mathematics course assembled by non-athlete, non-mentally deformed or culturally deprived students of their caliber brought gentle and soothing waves over these minds, bringing a placid sense of hope.
Ah, yes—serenity is sweet, even if it is only a mind-infused utopia. As their bodies melted into a conscious daze, only their physical forms were present to class this day.
Sheet music and harmony widened their eyes—and although their pupils reflected stars and unseen galaxies above, their ears persisted to blaze in an endless heat.
